redbaron80
I'm putting up this post for James / GOTFI It will be $ 454.00 from RF to repair his amp. Is there anywhere else he could get it repaired for cheaper? Quote Official Scores at the Dash. and YES. audiofanaticz
ouch.. at that prices you could buy a new to you used amp almost. Lol You can try ARC, www.amprepaircenter.com I use them a bit, and nothing costed me over $200 yet, and free return shipping if repiard and free quotes. Db-r can also do it, but youll be waiting most likely.
Derrick824
I believe dB-r charges around $300 + shipping for amps that size. Quotes are free. http://www.db-r.com/pricing.html
Boon
At that price it sounds like RF are going to just bin the board and put a new one in. Quote 10.x volts fo' life!
gotFI?
my boy alpine from team bassick told me the scott from amp repair center would take care of me. i gave scott a call on monday. cool dude. didnt try to rush me off the phone and answered all of my questions. great customer service. got a cheap quote over the phone and i was very impressed. dont get me wrong, i love the RF products and their service, but its getting alittle hard for me to come up with $454 for RF's flat rate service repair every time i send my amp in. scott said the parts are all universal except for the board itself and 95% of the time, the power supply (mofets) burn out. why not have it done at ARC? they use the same mfg parts and they cover the same refurb warrenty. best of all, im saving nearly $200 bucks. just FYI if you need a amp repaired. he should receive it wednesday or so. updates will be posted. Boon
The fact that RFs repair fee is flat-rate says to me that they just bin the board and put a new one in. If you get the RF repair you get essentially a new amp (can't say for sure though...) and your current board might be slightly damaged (burnt PCB/traces) and never be quite as good as it was... then again it might be as good as new with a normal repair on it. Wrong, they charge 454 no matter what the problem, and they DO NOT change the board. I had a repair from RF, went flawless and could not be happier, but they definately did not replace the board, just fixed what was broke. Quote Official Scores at the Dash. and YES.
