Modifying Q-logic Kicks

Hey, I have been lurking in the shadows and learning a lot from this group, but, now I have a question. Has anyone made the q-logic kick panels better by enclosing them? I have a set in my car and like the fit and finish of them, but, I thought if I did some fiberglassing and made them enclosed it would help my midrange/midbass response. And, shouldn't this help power handling wise so maybe I won't fry the speakers when thrashing them on long cruises?

My one main complaint about q-logic kicks is that they are so flimsy. A couple times I've taken some liquid nails and a bondo spreader from back in the woodshop and spread a couple layers on the inside of the qlogics... you wouldn't believe how much thicker/better they sounded.
