95pimpalass
Well, When I was driving my 95 Lt1 it just shut off out of nowhere and the Check Engine light came on. The car wasn't even running hot or anything like that. I tried starting it but it would just turn over but not start. I waited a couple of hours to see what happens and again it would turn over but not start. Also I can't hear it purging when I put it on the ON position. could it be something to do with my fuel delivery? it has a new fuel filter btw. I hooked up an obd1 scanner but the check engine light stays on it doesnt blink to give me the codes. The obd1 scanners manual says that if this happens to do a ''Diagnostic Circuit Check'' How do I do this? I dont have the vehicle's manual What can I do? LoudBlazer
Might be a bad opti spark, dead fuel pump, starter or something else. I know LT1 is infamous for spark issues. Those optis go bad and nothign will work lol Quote 1997 2 Door Blazer Bagged & Body Dropped SBC/TH350

dadillac27
its either not getting spark or not getting fuel. My guess without seeing the car would be fuel pump. and btw its not the starter as stated above if the car cranks. LoudBlazer
He did say it wouldnt turn over and start. If the starter is about done then it wont turn the motor completely over. Means it could be on its last leg. I had to read it a few times over to make sure i got all the info Quote 1997 2 Door Blazer Bagged & Body Dropped SBC/TH350
duct_tape123
He means it will crank, but won't start. Check fuel pump relay. I thought 1995 and newer was OBDII?

95pimpalass
Thanks alot for the help.. It was actually the optispark unit that had caused this problem. I had changed the optispark about a year ago for a brand new one, but what caused my problem was my bad waterpump which was leaking fluid into it causing it to get all corroded, ( waterpump basically sits on top of the optispark) So got a new waterpump, thermostat, and optispark and now its all gOOd! paco
I was late on this but my whip did the same thing. I had to put an opti spark, plugs, wires and water pump and the beast is back to terrorizing the wicked Chi.
