2000s-10 Posted January 13, 2009 Report Posted January 13, 2009 what are u trying to power ? it should put out about 2000 rms 1999 grand prix gt kenwood x994 head unit 1/0 big 3 all shok industry single run to the back New mid/highs coming not sure what Soundqubed q2200d at .5 (have) 2 soundqubed hdc3 12s (have) New box to be built.. sealed firing forward (yet to be designed) 200 amp alt not sure exact size or manufactor xs power batts

reinke Posted January 14, 2009 Report Posted January 14, 2009 they are awesome amp but are a little too much for what they do. the O2 audio lexus 330 demo vehicle sounds incredible thought and he has 4 of these on 4 15" O2 subs. ----reference's---- meade916
AI James Posted January 14, 2009 Report Posted January 14, 2009 i had the Planet Audio vx2200d (same amp as the o2) It was the worse purchase ive made on car audio in my life. Amp ended up blowing at hella low gf volume. blew half of the fets in the unit. I could have got it replaced under warranty, but im the kinda guy that if somethign blows for no reason i'l dump it and never look at it again. The Hifonics amps ive owned from the BXI line while they were all overrated a bit (300-400) rms wise, they were all pretty bulletproof. some others i have installed for customers..on very inadequite electrical have all stood up to thier abuse over the years as well.
Decaf Posted January 14, 2009 Report Posted January 14, 2009 Two 12" RE SX dual 2 ohmeither this amp of the Hifonics 2006d then you need 2000w+ at 2 ohms not 1 ohm or get 2 dual 4 ohm re sx's and find an amp at 2000w+ at 1 ohm altho im biased, id much rather have an Audioque AQ2200d than then Hifonics or 02 audio... and only $389

I have their mids in my car and are thoroughly impressed with them after having eminence, seleniums, and daytons. But I guess their amps dont hold up. Im going to be shopping around, see if I can get a used AQ, Sundown, or something along those lines. We shall see. Where can I find the AQ at that price?
