Boon Posted January 14, 2009 Report Posted January 14, 2009 Right. Im about to put together my proper battery bank. It consists of 12 batteries the same size as a Kinetic HC600. Each battery will be connected with a short piece of 4ga to a large bus bar. The question is, do I bother fusing these short runs of wire between the bus bar and batteries? I can't really see them ever shorting out but with $15k of gear going in I don't really want any fires in the trunk... Otherwise there will be 2 runs of 0ga going from the bus bar to an NSB90 under the hood. These will be fused at both ends with 250A ANL fuses. What's your thoughts on fusing battery banks? 10.x volts fo' life!

The batts won't be going anywhere, they'll be almost totally enclosed. I think I'll go with no fuses, I don't see them ever shorting... Cheers for the input people 10.x volts fo' life!
