Boon Posted February 10, 2009 Report Posted February 10, 2009 and solder is like welding, vibration isnt an issue, and i will promise you a well done solder will work 5x better then a well done crimp any day, both in connectivity and strength(i used to crimp, tried soldering, I'll never go back, you could tow a friggin car with 0g and soldered on terminals, most crimps i could pull off by hand with some elbow grease) Actually a good crimp literally is 'cold welding' But this requires a proper hydro crimper or a very big hex crimper to do properly. Most people think crimping sucks because they do it badly. A 'properly' crimped join has both lower resistance and higher strength than a soldered joint Quote 10.x volts fo' life!
