Bluebrindle Posted February 14, 2009 Report Posted February 14, 2009 Hello guys i,m new here from the UK so first want to say hi to our USA allies :tease: Anyway I have an eclipse cd8061 hu which i locked when i bought it with a certain disc which as you can imagine has been lost, the hu has sat in my drawer for nearly 3 years and would like to sell it but need to get it working first question is i can remember what disc it was (i think) so if i went and bought a new disc would that unlock it? i imagine it would as ultimately its the same thing but just want to check first. cheers
roscoe1129 Posted February 14, 2009 Report Posted February 14, 2009 Usually that works but be sure you have the correct one other wise 3 tries and its permalocked and the only way is to send it in to get reset! Some people need a sympathetic pat... on the head...with my hammer Scientia est Vox "In Nomine Patris et Filii et Spiritus Sancti" DONT BE AFRAID TO USE THE SEARCH BUTTON!!! SMD SUPER BUYER/SELLER
Bluebrindle Posted February 14, 2009 Author Report Posted February 14, 2009 :censored: damn i think its fully locked i just tried it 3 times or so because i looked at a website which said that if the unit says disc then its not locked and needs locking so i just put in a disc and it kept spitting it back out. it comes up sec then disc which i assume is security disc now i think about it. it did say on the site i looked on that only if it says dial 1 800 something then i need to contact eclipse. Problem i have is i bought it second hand from australian ebay (one of the only countrys which has the same radio frequencys as the uk) so i dont know where i stand in terms of a receipt etc. Just a shame to have what was a very expensive hu just sat there, also i reckon it will cost a fortune to have it shipped to the states and back (rip off uk prices, everythings expensive here).
Dr. Johnson Posted February 14, 2009 Report Posted February 14, 2009 1.Call the number tell them who you bought it from 2. give them your phone # 3. they will call the registered owner confirm the sale 4. call you back 5. you give them your credit card # they charge you $25.00 6. you become the new registered owner. 7. they then give you the code and walk you through unlocking it over the phone. 8. Done. Thats what we did at least.
Bluebrindle Posted February 14, 2009 Author Report Posted February 14, 2009 I,ll do the above, thanks guys
