Guest KyleCannon Posted February 15, 2009 Report Posted February 15, 2009 How do the welding supply terminals compare to the stinger ones on darvex site for 0 gauge? I know the welding supply ones are cheaper so just wondering where I should get them from. Thanks everyone! Also, can you link me on the welding site of the ones you would get? Quote

Guest KyleCannon Posted February 15, 2009 Report Posted February 15, 2009 Yeah, I use those right now, question is are those the best to use? The welding supply ones are cheaper so thats why i was wondering... Quote
BAGGEDBIRDS.com Posted February 15, 2009 Report Posted February 15, 2009 IMO the gold or Shock Chrome plating are only for looks. I think the welding ones would work fine assuming thay are connected to the wire well. I bought the stinger ends from Darvex. I want them pretty. Whatever you do don't buy from HiFi - its rolling the dice. Derrick824 Posted February 15, 2009 Report Posted February 15, 2009 I like the pretty ones. As for functionality they both work fine. Quote
Guest Just_Rob Posted February 15, 2009 Report Posted February 15, 2009 Kyle, if you want some really good terminals we have some 1/0 magna lugs at the shop that are tin plated copper that is about 5x as heavy as normal copper lugs.. Swing by next week and I'll give you some but bring your cable, I will have to use our crimper on them because you cant crimp these by hand... Normal copper lugs from just about anywhere are just as functional as high dollar ones... Quote

The first time they sent me a different series connector than I ordered, they still worked so I let that one go. Then I ordered 20' of 1ga wire in the older Stinger Gloss blue. It had to be gloss because it needed to match the rest of what I had already. I checked the auction and it had the gloosy picture and the glossy model number. I got the Matte finish. I sent them e-mail after e-mail, tried calling the phone #, nobody ever answered. I have my doubts there is anyone there. I think it's all lip service to make you feel better about ordering from them. After a month of no contact from them i left them a negative feedback. they opened a "non-payment" claim againist me on ebay. which was dumb, i had the wire a month already and they wouldn't have shipped it had it not been paid, which is clearlyexplained in their terms. I had to submit paypal dates and what not. they were just pissed that they got a neg. They still say I neg. them to neg. them. They sent me the wrong wire. After said and done it was easier to change the rest of the system glossy to matte, so i did so with Darvex. Boon Posted February 16, 2009 Report Posted February 16, 2009 Copper welding lugs are awesome Probably better connection than blingy 'audio' lugs when crimped properly. Quote 10.x volts fo' life!
