Optima Vs. Powermaster

Recommended Posts

I'm gonna be running around 4000 watts rms and need to figure out my battery setup. I've been looking at Powermaster and Optima, specifically the Group 31 batteries. I'm wondering if anyone can tell me which one, either the XSD3100 by powermaster or the D31 by optima would work better. I have a 200 amp alternator in the works and i'm already running 1/0 power wire. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

why dont ppl like stinger batterys anymore? my sp800 was settin at 5v when i got it used and i charged it over night and it rests at 12.6v and does a pritty good job for my system, are they not that good anymore or not enulf ah current? ive always thougth stinger was still the best but all the others was really close but at a better price? i got my sp800 for $50 from a buddy that owns a shop and msrp is $300 i think so that was a deal but what would be the top battery companys now a days? imo it looks to be powermaster, kenitik, stinger, optima, duralast golds are really good also, everstart maxx, enterstate?

I compared a couple numbers between the optima and the powermaster and of course the powermaster did come out on top, but if you look back at Steve's civic buildup, he used the optima group 31 in the trunk, which threw me off since everything else is using powermaster. But thanks for the information and opinions, keep them comin cause i'm still on the fence.

the powermasters are better but some people cant justify paying 350bux for a single battery......

There's nothing wrong with the Stinger batteries at all. They are very very good batteries and one of the most popular in the street a category in Db Drag. The difference is that you can buy a Powermaster D3100 for the same price as the Stinger 1700 and the Powermaster will walk all over it. Why pay more for less?

that's really what it boils down to, but remember in this game, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!

so, id man up and do it, i was gonna buy some PM D925, but i decided that im gonna wait, and get a PM D2700 or D3100.

its worth it IMO

hope this helped

Thanks guys, you always get what you pay for. i guess i'm just basing this off the fact that our fearless leader used the Optimas before and i guess i answered my own question but this helped alot. I guess i'm gonna be makin a few phone calls to find out where i can get my D3100.
