LCD, the image quality is almost the same as plasma now.

also, if you can wait for OLED tv's, then thats the shit. i saw alot of those at CES 2009 and its just crazy, the detail is amazing.

and see i know plasma look great from experience.. but some of my friends have LCDs and they look good too.. thats what is making it hard for me..

I just bought a LG 42" 720 plasma. Was $799.

Was sitting next to a samsung, and Mitsubishi lcd and the plasma looked waaay better.

LCD if you play any kind of video games....plasmas have a tendency to burn images into the screen....not all but some....I saw some panasonic LCDs that were absolutely amazing.....I like Pioneer LCDs too.
