Just my limited experience with the company, and with a different amp. I'm sure it would still be a beast at 12v, but with an MLA module and 5 alts your probably talking about very very limited voltage drop lol. I don't know what else to teel you other than calling or e-mailing Grizz and see if he has any info as to why all these XXX amps are failing. Im Starting to Just get Skeptical With SS Ive been thinking, Ive seen SO many of there Amps smoke and burn from no apperent reason over the years ive been in Car Audio.... I'm thinkin of just buying the RD 7500.1 tonight for $1000 shipped and later on buying another.... There zenon Made boards so they are deffinatly legit.... this will be pushing just 2 18's until I can afford aanother one so I can put one 2 each woofer! Boon Posted February 28, 2009 Report Share Posted February 28, 2009 The XXX6500's and 10k's are always smoking because people run them on 12/14.4v systems. They are designed around having 16v power, running them on 12v is always going to be pushing them, you're pulling way too much current through the power supply section compared to what they are designed for.
