is MTX really this good ???

Recommended Posts

And other companies dont do this? All companies claim to be the best and look for ways to make themselves look like the best. I personally like mtx, dont really care for jl they got to greedy after the W0 hit big with low budget people/ personally i think the w7 is way overpriced and you could do alot better for less the price. Kicker is a great company. At the moment Pioneer has all the bragging rights for SPL.

Amen brotha.

Marketing guys get paid BANK for a reason.

Smoke & mirrors my friend...They sit down w/ an R&D/tech guy and figure out what test will make thier woofer "SMOKE THE COMPETITION"...And they "happen to be rolling video".

Even "CLAIMS"...these days it's hard to even trust T/S specs as most folks/companies use w/e version makes them look best like putting xmech as xmax.

Gotta "copy" & go with what the LOUD guys use, or just experiment urself.

Just thought i should quote myself..quoting ^^ about MTX NOT repeat NOT being the only who does this.

aka all 3 of us share the same opinoon that MTX, KICKER, KENWOOD, JL and numerous others overstate their specs and over present them in "shady" ads. Everybody does it...except those that don't really advertise and just let their rep speak for itself...AA, Fi, and RE come to mind.

Personally I love Kicker amps, I beat the crap out of them and they have never let me down. But when it comes to subs... They are ok. Bonkers I totally agree with you about JL, IMO they seem to think that nothing is better than they are, but of course it depends who u talk to because I really don't like them after I had a pair of W6s.

I love companys like FI, RE, and AA.... They don't say that they are the best they just let everyone see them perform. I remember being on the FI forum and someone asked what would be better, some FI subs or another company and scott told him that the others would probably work better, right there is when FI became my new favorite company because hes not all about money hes about the car audio community and giving good sound advice.

Just curous what was wrong with your w6's? Other than if the orginal w6's the jacked up ohms. I have always used JL subs, and i havent had any problems with them, they have always worked well in my application. When someone would ask me what brand was the best i would tell them i dont know, what is the best but i would tell them the brands i have had the best experinces with, and for subs that has been JL and RF.

I cannot see that video from this computer. (Gov. computer with firewalls on videos) But I can say honestly from first hand experience. MTX makes a great subwoofer and is low costing to the entry level car stereo enthusiast. Their higher end with the 9500's also sound awesome. I don't think they are spl woofers, but they certainly do put some subwoofers to shame. --2 cents.
