Hell compared to Kenwood you would probly get better Results off of the old Kicker Impulse line witch used to be thier entry level amps back in the day. Yes the Kicker Comp VR should be a better subwoofer but I have not heard the new Kenwoods but the old ones, well you would never find one in any of my installs.
