The Performer Posted March 13, 2009 Report Share Posted March 13, 2009 It's your voice coils in the subs that are getting warm. It's normal for any mechanical electronics to give off a little heat. Think of them like your engine in your car, you want them to warm up a little before they will be performing at their best. I HOPE theres no friction on the vc of that sub. You gotta remember. All a sub (or speaker) is, is a coil and a magnet. The coil alternates polarities causing the attached cone to generate soundwaves. The more power on the coil, the stronger the waves. The more power on the coil, the more heat generated through effeciency loss (there is NO 100% effecient item on this planet!) Your coils are going to get warm.
