Would a universal table vice work?

Is that one of those crappy wooden dealies or a solid ass bench vice?

Bence vice, yes. Crappy wooden thing, no.

The crimpers I usually do my 0ga with have 3ft long handles, it takes a bit of force to do it right.

If it's sealed around the whole circumference, then I'd use a phillips screwdriver and a hammer, or solder if you can. If it has the split, vice grips or vice on one side, then the other.

I tried to solder using meades method of heating it from the back and pushing the solder in, and all it did was go down the wire and melt the plastic surround. It was Knuconceptz 1/0 if that matters. Now i hammer the shit out of them

Damn. You serious?

I'm about to try meade's method with my Knu 0 gauge flex wire :(

I'm still waiting for my mini torch from harborfreights. The crap won't come to my house until Friday, and I bought it a few weeks ago.

That looks good and pretty expensive.

I can't decide whether I should solder or use this:

I was reading this site:

http://www.terminaltown.com/Pages/Page7.html

and it said something like this:

[This is not a crimper...] Neither are hammers, vises, needle nose pliers or flat rocks. A good crimper, when used, correctly will do a cold weld between the wire and the barrel of the connector. If you were to cut a well executed crimp in half you would see a solid form of wire and connector. You can't achieve a good crimp with the wrong tool/crimper
