wierdguy75 Posted March 18, 2009 Report Posted March 18, 2009 I was doing some research being bored at work one day and decided to make my own crossovers just for kicks. I know we can limit certain frequencies to a tweeter by using a uF capacitor, and to make it lower we can add an inductor to the mix, but if i just wanted to make just a LPF, so that nothing over lets say 100hz could pass, How do i achieve that? Been searching endlessly on google and various audio sights but cant seem to find exactly how to do this. Anyone have any words of wisdom?
troy Posted March 18, 2009 Report Posted March 18, 2009 they are failry cheap. buy one. most amps alredy have them retarded build on the way..... 2000 bagged s10 2 hdc3 15s aq2200 aq4x90 stinger/knu wire optima batteries 220 amp alt fosgate hu/mids and highs
Audioguy564 Posted March 18, 2009 Report Posted March 18, 2009 for low pass you need an inductor in series with the speaker that would be a 6db if you want to make the slope steeper you add a capacitor to ground after the inductor. There are certain websites that have calculators that will tell you what component values to use. Juan Rodriguez Chief Technology Officer D'Amore Engineering T15KW Support Engineer System. Boon Posted March 18, 2009 Report Posted March 18, 2009 Just a chunky chunky coil It's much easier to do crossovering on line-level signals though, otherwise you have to consider the power handling and impedance matching of the crossover. 10.x volts fo' life!
