cc_audio Posted March 23, 2009 Report Posted March 23, 2009 I have aquired a boat that will be rigged up to go wakeboarding. Its currently in the stereo build process. I have front and tower speakers that are incredibly loud and sound great and I am adding a much needed subwoofer. The enclosure will be a bandpass tapered T-Line. Thanks to forevrbumpn for the enclosure idea. The sub will be a 10" Sony Xplod XS-L1035. Here is my question... "What is the cheapest way to waterproof raw MDF?" The outside will have truck bed liner in more exposed spots but I don't want to do the whole thing because thats REALLY expensive. I need something that will last. It doesn't have to be durable to wear and tear but it has to be completely waterproof and last for atleast five years or so. This boat is aluminum all the way. Oh yeah! Not even a single patch of fiberglass on this whole boat. Ugly, but practical.. Haha I guess I'll whip out the camera. It's all gone! cc_audio Posted March 23, 2009 Author Report Posted March 23, 2009 Where do you guys get your resin? The last time a bought some it was expensive as hell and I went through it pretty quick. Isn't there like a stain or sealant thats $15 a gallon that could waterproof it. I'm trying really hard to save money here. I have two AC Delco deep cycles, a Boss Rev655 fourchannel (speakers), a dual 300W two channel (sub), Bose and Olympus outdoor speakers, Pioneer H/U, 10" Sony Xplod subwoofer and all of it and the wires were free. It was all just lying around. Go back to basic woodworking in high school shop, what could waterproof wood and be really cheap. I guess I could try Google too. It's all gone!
