Oh I have. Song is Stupid with those long drawn out bass notes. It has like 3 maybe 4 different notes that just go on and on!

On a totally unrelated note... my almost 23 year old van attempted to kill me today.

*** WARNING *** "Cool Story Bro" to follow:

Today the Van made a 250+ mile road trip to South MS- to visit with the in-laws & see her fam, and to go to Crusin the Coast this weekend. My wife's parents live in a gated community- security guard shack at the entrance and all of that jazz. I pull up to the window (behind the wife in her Trail Blazer) and put it in park while I wait on her to go through. Well- it didn't go in park, it went in Reverse. No biggie huh? Just put it in park, right?

There was no Park.

The was no Neutral.

There was only Reverse. (like in Ghostbusters- "There is no Dana, only Zuul.")

So... embarrassed, I have to ask the lady behind me if she could back up so I could back out of the way- not like I had any other options. Well, by then my wife had gone through and the security guard thought I was trying to pull something. So, she starts hollering at me to go through the gate- to which I had to yell back: "I Can't! My van is broken." ..all onlookers laugh at my expense & I pull off back off the road.

With my parking brake engaged to keep my van from motoring off into the darkness, I get my flashlight and see what the deal is. The TINY cotter pin that holds the transmission linkage to the linkage on the column broke. When it broke, the linkage simply fell off leaving me in Reverse. I have no clue when it broke- could have been broken for hours... or when I attempted to put it in Park. Don't know. The wife comes back with her pops who has some wire (until I get a cotter pin tomorrow). Line up the linkage, pop it back in place, and tie it down. Problem fixed.

So-

Where does the possible death come in? We had been on the highway for hours. Had the linkage fallen out then, gravity would have pulled the linkage down- which would have taken the van out of Drive and into Neutral. One past that is.... Reverse. Imagine if you will, my fat old van puttering along at 70 mph with an additional half ton (or more) of weight in Audio Gear... instantly being thrown into Reverse.

At best- destroyed drive shaft, rear end, transmission, motor, etc...

At worst- Roll Over.

Crisis avoided.

....told you. "Cool Story Bro"

****EDIT**** For teh pictures:

In this one you see the temp safety wire used to hold the linkage together.

And fixed with washer, cotter pin, & safety wire.

Had a great time at Crusin the Coast this year. Hope to post up some pictures.

Didn't get many as the wifey and I were having a good time just enjoying the cruse and the beach. Did get some GREAT reactions to the stereo- too bad it was at night and the videos didn't turn out....

On the 10 mile, 2 hour drive West on the strip- the sun was hitting the van just right where oncoming traffic across the median could see in the van. I got so many jaw drops, thumbs up, huge smiles, and confused looks- it was great.

While playing it, I didn't even get the looks that said: "Wow... that's loud."

I just got looks of horror. Jaws dropping and people 15 feet away on the grass covering their ears and turning away. ....which is- after all- what I was after to begin with.

Had a blast! Hope all of you guys had a great weekend too- where ever you may have been!!

Bassless once again. Can't seem to keep a system for more than a few weeks :)

Saving for a '06 Nissan 350z, look for build around June 2012.

Damnation! I would have loved to have given you a demo! You wouldn't have been the only Louisiana guy there either- there were so many freakin' people with LA tags and wearing Purple... madness. You couldn't drive too far without hearing the game on Saturday.

Good stuff and hope somday i could build a clamp of sub..

Thanks! ...And just do it brother! Let the audio madness consume you. :D
