Ok boys and girls I am at a loss here. Its a 4.3L in a 93 blazer, 175,000 on it and ran like a charm until recently. As the title says it will start but will not stay running and when it dies it will not start again for awhile.

Fuel pump is fine, replaced fuel filter and nothing.

It is getting spark, replaced coil just in case and still nothing.

Also cleaned out EGR (which was pretty dirty) and still nothing.

Anyone else have an idea or suggestion? Open to all thoughts or ideas.

Head Unit: Pioneer DEH-P6000UB

Sub Amp:American Bass VFL 500.1

Subs: 4 Fi BL 18's

Enclosure:21.5 Cubic foot flat wall tuned to 40 hz

Batteries: 3 Kinetik 2400's in the back, Kinetik 1200 under hood.

Mids & Highs: 4 Kicker DS 6.5 coax in doors, 2 Kicker DS coax in pillars

Highs Amp: Kicker kx250.2, kx100.2

Wire: 4 Runs 1/0 gauge Knukonceptz

no leaks? and are your fluids all right? sorry if im soundin dumn just seein whats been checked already and what might of been missed. i have seen the prob many times with the fuel system bein weak but ya said its good. i take it you checked the fuel pressure. a motor can run even if its weak it just wont run correctly and not sure of your experiance

Fluids are all fine, no leaks that I can see.

Sounds like a bad sensor. does it turn over and just die? or does it idle for a sec?

Will idle 30 to 45 sec and then will die. Will run if you keep it above 2,000 RPMs.

How long will it run? If its like 2 seconds its timing. Also the starter may need a shim. 4.3's are quality motors. just my .02 cents. I seen them get 250,000 without a sweat when maintained right.

+1 I had a 95 s10 with that motor and I sold it with over 230,000 on it and it's still going with 300.000+ on it

Replaced starter a few months ago winter killed it lol.

This is my seccond s10 blazer with a 4.3, my other one lasted 368k before it was toast. Love 4.3L's

hmmm. well tell ya the truth id say we all can come up with reason after reason why it might be actin up but the best way would be to get a scan tool put on it to check codes, im guessin the check engine light is on. but its hard to say without bein able to look at it and mess around in person, even though id love to help ya.
