99vic Posted May 10, 2009 Author Report Posted May 10, 2009 ok after getting my 8th pm asking why im selling subs i had problems with, im going to post it public so i dont have to get excited thinking someone is interested. i was told that i could get some subs that were better than my koves and better than the lvl4s i was going to get for a better price. so i sold my koves and ordered 2 dual 4ohm 15s that could handle 1k rms with no problems. bumped them a couple days and had problems. i looked into it and noticed i had one sub that read 2 ohms and one sub that read almost 4, i talked to ken he said he would build different ones for me. so i got the new ones took them home and they still didnt sound good, i tested the coils and they all read close to the same d1s so i called back and he said it was my amp so i took it out and put a friends amp in still didnt sound right ....so i took everything out put it in my friends car and still wasnt impressed. i asked him again and he then said it was my box. and the subs needed to be tuned higher than my box and after spending all the cash on getting it fixed and carpeted by dr db i was pissed. after looking at how much gas time and actual money for the subs (totaling almost$1,000),i said screw it. im selling them and thats where i am now. 2 15s that have only been played for 2 short tests, btw the subs need to be tuned to 40hz to perform best. when i had them in my box they banged lows very well but the highs werent as good as i wanted them to be, and thats where the 40hz comes in from what im told. for someone thats just starting a build its a great deal but for me its not worth it after spending what i have spent.
