dwright27
Started this box Saturday evening for a customer. He has an 03 or 06 or something Expedition with the 3rd Row and was wanting something custom back there. first thought was to do a fiberglass amp rack in between teh woofers. After an initial test fit it was outta the question. Circles arent perfect as my jasper jig wont be here until tomorrow and i still have a few more things to do before he pics it up tomorrow. Round over a few more things and sand all my wood filler down, as well as put the carpet on it. sory i didnt get many pics, was trying to get it done ... onto the pics. Im not dwright but if you look closely you can see the port though the sub holes on a couple of the pics. Looks to me like it will be subs up port back, as I assume it wouldn't be subs up port forward.... Edit: atleast I think thats what it looks like... then again the port side does look smaller.... is that a sort of a wedge box? I think it just might be... dwright27
whats the sub port config? plz dont say its sub forward port back.....and your shop dosnt have a jasper jig and router? i have my router, and my jasper jig hasnt gotten here yet. will be here tomorrow. been trying to get the guy i work for to buy one for the 7 months ive been there. to no avail though. its sub back port up because of space. 10" max at the top where the seats go back. 3 - 3.5 cubes after displacements with double baffle. tuned @ 35 hz with 36 square inches of port. was gonna do 60 sqaure inches but the length of the port was too long. cc_audio
I just blew a couple of those exact IMPP woofers a couple weeks ago. My friend had clipped them one to many times so they were real scratchy and one had really brittle tinsels. So, I blew them with an RF 501bd. They lived through hell in my friends ghetto ass install. He had a cut up extension cord for power and ground from battery. Aughhh!!! They were pretty tough, but no match for RF power Good luck with install. Quote It's all gone! dwright27
dosnt look bad, are you removing that carpet out of the port? i was, but after looking at it, the roundover on the port makes the carpet roll so smoothly into the port i liked it. im pondering taking it out though. also, its not just sitting inside the port. it is 3M Super 77 glued down.
