berniebp87 Posted April 15, 2009 Report Posted April 15, 2009 I was looking to buy new amplifiers and wanted to buy Rockford Fosgate amps, have become totally hooked on them after watching all of Steve Meade`s videos. I wrote a email to the dealer in Norway that imports RF among other brands, I told him what I wanted and what the price was going to be. When I got the reply from the dealer, he wouldn`t recommend to buy RF because so many that buy them have to send them into repair after a little while and said they were very unstable amps. The amplifiers I was looking for was 2 T40001bd and a T15004. I personally love Rockford Fosgate, I have seen what they are capable of and the Steve Meade is running them so that speaks for itself. So the question here is; Is my dealer and the people that have bought them here in Norway talking bullshit and abusing the RF amps or do they have a lot of faults? camino_1to3 Posted April 15, 2009 Report Posted April 15, 2009 That guy is mistaken. Rockford makes some of the best amps money can buy. I would say that if he sees alot of returns, it's result of the fact that whoever is moving those amps from the U.S to Norway does a bad job. Team T3 Audio Team Sundown Audio Team O.B.M Operation Beast Mode "Believe half of what you see and none of what you hear" wigglez that was a bit over the top, i dont want to invison dw giving any young lady a "cream pie" let alone "throat babies".
Pioneer~Saturn Posted April 15, 2009 Report Posted April 15, 2009 As far as Ive heard/seen theyre darn solid amps...the people must have installed them wrong or abused them I would think Team Tupperware <First dual-alternator 'real' Saturn (pre-2002) on the planet>(3) 15" Fi SP4's fed by (2) M3a's strapped @ .66712.75 cubes net @ 25Hz with 200 sq inches of port area (lowz...?)Stock alt position (custom bracket) 225 amp Mechman Roof = steel and fiberglass (u mad?)(2) XS Power D3100's, (2) rhino batts, No battery upfront (for now, smh)4 power+ 4 ground runs of 1/0-gauge to rear"If its been done before...you're doing it wrong" : ) "stfu about scores and float $hit..."
Fach Posted April 15, 2009 Report Posted April 15, 2009 yeah they're underrated like crazy that Rf 40001bd will put out about 4900rms at 1 ohm.
Fach Posted April 15, 2009 Report Posted April 15, 2009 some of the older rockfords around the 2000-2003 would get hot, they were still really good amps, I guess their technique for fan usage wasn't all there. But rockford has always been on the top of their game in the AMP category.
lowrider77 Posted April 16, 2009 Report Posted April 16, 2009 rockford amps are killer, i have some amps for there year 2000 line, and they still playin hard to date, hell i had a power 1000.1bd that was only 2 ohm stable, and i ran it at 1 ohm daily with very lil problem got hot as hell some days but that was wen i didnt knoe any thing bout gains and i had then almost all the way up. and i juss got a t2000 and a t8004 an so far very pleased with them, still solid built amps
15VmaxXL Posted April 16, 2009 Report Posted April 16, 2009 If your looking to get the t4000bd, you better have a great eletrical system. You cant let the volts drop below a 12. Our show truck is running 2 t1000bd has a kinetik 1400 and 3.5 farad cap. There is NO WAY we could do it with out them. They can be hungry beasts, but just upgrade sold everything
