dbmonster Posted April 18, 2009 Report Share Posted April 18, 2009 so I've been having problems with one of my RF t5002's going into protect mode for no reason for 2 weeks now, figured it was on it's last leg, it is about 4 years old now. Well yesterday morning I stared my truck, and as soon as the amps came on I started hearing a loud high pitched whining sound (like a fax machine) coming from the amp, not through the speakers, but from inside the amp, this lasted about 15-20 sec, followed by a snap crackle and a pop, and then a big cloud of magic white smoke creeping up from behind my back seats. All in all it was a nice drematic way for the amp to end it's life So for now I have both of my mtx 9500 15's wired up to my remaining t5002 @ 1 ohm bridged, we'll see how long that lasts! I dunno why but I've seen 3 or 4 fosgates go up in smoke all had that crazy ass whine then pop I guess they have it's own death cry Quote Have you ever had your woofers blown? I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy.
