never set the knobs randomly like that w/o using a multimeter or oscilloscope

well with an m500 on a type r u should be just fine

i was scared breaking in my lvl 4 XLs with 1500 rms per sub LOL but i just ran it at high levels for a minute or so per song then turned it down cuz i was scared of breaking it but it turned out really good

You dont need to break in subwoofers.

just install them and go about your business. No worries. They will take care of themselves.

Dude there is no set way to break in subs, you'll get lots of good advice and but that's just what it is. ADVICE. You can take an awsome high-dollar sub n might not need anything. Then get ya a lightning audio from wally world and run it of the head unit and needs days, still never sound good though. Just do what you feel comfortable with and if you smell smoke should have turned it down a little sooner. B) I've taken subs right out of the box at a comp and gave them hell and no probs. Again I've taken a sub and given it half volume for a month and SMOKE. Just play it and have fun with it quit stressin.
