RamenNoodles
A sub should be able to take its RMS rating right out of the box. If not, forget them. I know shops will swear by the break in period to save their ass incase of a malfunction, but I dont believe in that shit at all. HHR Ed
You dont need to break in subwoofers. just install them and go about your business. No worries. They will take care of themselves. Loudcav
the only subs I have ever owned that Id say to break them in would be the old silver memphis M class right out of the box at high volume the sounded awful if you gave it a couple weeks to loosen up they sounded great
bjfails
Dude there is no set way to break in subs, you'll get lots of good advice and but that's just what it is. ADVICE. You can take an awsome high-dollar sub n might not need anything. Then get ya a lightning audio from wally world and run it of the head unit and needs days, still never sound good though. Just do what you feel comfortable with and if you smell smoke should have turned it down a little sooner. I've taken subs right out of the box at a comp and gave them hell and no probs. Again I've taken a sub and given it half volume for a month and SMOKE. Just play it and have fun with it quit stressin. BigPimpin91
I hammer all mine out of the box. If it doesn't take the abuse from the start it won't last anyway. QFT. PREACH! Pound the hell out of them. They'll loosen up faster that way. Quote BigPimpin91's Banging Music
