LiL PiNoY Posted May 3, 2009 Report Posted May 3, 2009 car starts up fine, battery up front is steady at 12.7 volts when car is off. i know my alternator is probably busted but will i make it to the shop without having it die on me on the road. shop is about a hour away.

I got back home later on that evening and the battery usually rests at around 12.9 it was around 12.2 hour rate on cell batteries are insane! Kill all of your electronics like he said and you'll be fine. During the past hurricane.. eduardo I think it was... we were without power for around 3 days. I pulled the hc800 out of the trunk and my farenheit din and a few 6x9s wired them all up in my living room so we can watch movies and listen to the radio. Radio was on around the clock except for 3-4 hours a night when we slept... Power came back on and I tested voltage with a multimeter! It didn't drop but .3 over that time frame. I know the HU don't pull many as many amps as a cars accessories would. The reserve capacity on these things are nuts though. I've left my amps on accidently when I forgot to hit the kill switch NUMEROUS times for a day and a half and the car would start back up.
