not sure if it was said in the thread somewhere, but why did you edead the plastic??? its pointless to put it on the plastic. Peal the stock "deadener" off the metal in the door and put it in there on the metal.

besides that the install looks good and that is a bad ass h/u!

ok guys... bought some stuff got all this at darvexs...so when it gets here friday time to be putting in some batts...well hopefully.. ok here is what i got.

hey guys....last night i wanted to make the floor piece n see what the box would look like in the back....let me tell ya something...this box is a BEAST!!!! looks so huge lol.. ran into one problem though....the back seats are hard as hell to flip up n lock in place...to ya think i could router the sides in the front so that way i could slide it forward a little?? well on to sum pics..

this is the spot were i would like to router the corners... just on the bottom so i can slide it ahead just a little so the back seats will lock not so hard...that and the box is sitting on the back of the headrests and i am kinda worried that after a while it will start tearing the leather from all the vibrations lol..

o and another thing that should be enough room for the port right.. it is about 4 to 5 in befor the hatch..its close but hopfully it wont affect it that much

thanks the only problem is the rear seats..anyone think that i could router the bottom so i could slide the box forward a little?

Great build so far man.....should really pound!!! I have a 2003 Explorer with 2 15's firing up port back (very similar to your box design) and have spent many hours trying to get rid of all my rattle. So as far as the deadening, I would definitely get the hatch panels off and deaden the shit out of the hatch. I didn't manage to snap any plastic pieces but you just have to be careful. Also make sure you get a couple layers on the roof, the luggage racks and roof flex make some nasty rattle. The Explorers are pretty solid and have some decent padding already installed, therefore I just focused on the doors / hatch / roof / rear side panels.
