Need Your Opinion On Something

Okay so i bought my ho alternator at my local audio store and had them install it as well. so everything went well then my belt stop turning on my alternator and when i brought it in they said that the bracket snapped in half and i need a custom one and that i would have to pay for it even though i already paid for the quoted price for the alternator and the installation. are they just trying to get out of an expense they are responsible for?

no the alternator is absolutely fine the bracket for it broke and needs to be replaced with a better one that they want me to pay for but they should have done it right the first time thats why im seeing what other people would do

Was it an OEM bracket, or an aftermarket bracket made by someone? If the bracket is OEM to the vehicle, and was in good condition before the install, I would say the shop should replace it. If it is a custom built bracket that may-or-may not have been made well, then I would say you are on your own...
