Darksideofsound Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 ...what?? L7's murder the lows, at least mine does. Its in a 3cu ft box tuned to 30hz being fed 1500 watts, it hits harder than the 2 12's in my jeep. Build it low and it will go loww. In my jeep with the two 12's i went from a box tuned to 29hz to a box tuned to 35hz and it was like night and day, there is very little flex now and the lows dont hit nearly as hard. I wish i never went to 35hz. But yea you will definitely hear and feel the difference. edit: here's a vid of 4 15in l7's sealed...you tell me if it gets low http://realmofexcursion.com/videos/Various/kickerl715.1.wmv you want lows.........put your 15" L7 in this..... 6.0 ft3 (170L) + port displacement 3.5 x 16.25” (8.9x41cm) port, 13.75” (35cm) long Power Handling = 750W RMS there is insane, then there was this.....it was retarded.....we had 2000 wrms going to it and it was shaking the rafters above at a gas station so bad, I thought it was coming down.....if I can find that video I will post it.....

Ray Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 f3 or down3 is the freq at which your enclosure is -3db from its loudest point. box volume, vent area play a role in this and at what freq you are tuning at in that size box. noobtastic pretty much nailed it on the head. good job drew. as far as what qts,qms mean, well school will be in session very soon. and drew, that grey line looks great, nice peak at 35, box wants to play down to 24hz.. sick 2008 California state record holder 157.2 Bassrace2009 California state record holder 157.0 BassraceRollin 50's 158.7db2009 King of Cali Bassrace2009 USACi score 160.5 @ 42hz

That sounds good but I have two 15" L7s, not one lol. What about this: Edit: Box width: 41.5 Box Height: 18 Box depth: 22 Wood thickness: 0.75 obviously Square port width: 5 Square port length two: 9 Square port area:82.5 Box volume: 6.22 Tuning Frequency: 29.519 2008 Chevy Impala (undercover cop style) Setup in the makings
cichlidfort Posted May 9, 2009 Author Report Posted May 9, 2009 I know that's not that many cubes for two 15" L7s but it's the only thing I can fit in the back of my Jeep without building a wall. I am still kinda confused on how the F3 point affects everything but is this box ok for getting "low?" 2008 Chevy Impala (undercover cop style) Setup in the makings
