cc_audio
looks great so far.... did the other amp come in yet? hows that sub coming along? updates Nope, still have no amp. I'm really anxious to get it too. I do have some pics of the sub but I'm not allowed to post them. Ken says they're top secret so you'll just have to wait. Here's a vid of my temp system though. cc_audio
Finally got the ambition to get out and start getting everything nice and pretty for the new sub. I didn't realize just how big my little T2 really is. I know you guys like pics so I took a couple. Started removing all signal wires so nothing would interfere. Got the die grinder out and removed some of the old body filler that I mixed too hot. What a pain in the ass! Somehow I left the end of the shop-vac in the box. What an interesting find. Taking the fuses out, just in case. It's all gone! The Celica Build Feedback If I buy something from you, DO NOT USE FEDEX!
cc_audio
Like everything else I've done to this car, I just kind of make it up as I go along. Using my tape skills I got the curves and contours I wanted. Be sure to do two layers of tape, makes removal much easier and the heat of the resin won't warp the tape. Really helps maintain shape. Thats me! Started with one layer across, then two, then five and 8 layers of glass in some spots (like the corners) When I took the trunk lid off, I had to find the wire connector to the third brake light. Some butchering of the dynamat was necessary. And then I began to fill the bracing with some Great Stuff. It's all gone! The Celica Build Feedback If I buy something from you, DO NOT USE FEDEX! cc_audio
The trim panel is almost cured and ready to pull. Since my car is decomissioned, figured I'd slap the ol' power supply on there and see if I can't bring my float voltage back up to 13.4 volts. Very carefully, with thin drywall knife and finger, I pulled the piece out. Took about 20 min to get it out. Also made some foam art. Peeled all the tape off the trim panel. Thats a lot of tape! The panel drops in perfectly. No binds at all, no interference just perfect. Now I just need to trim it, level it and bondo it. Here's a little trick for you. Before laying down fiberglass, draw on the tape with permanent marker where you plan on cutting the panel. The permanent marker line on the tape will transfer to the fiberglass and now I have a line to cut along. Saves a lot of time. It's all gone! Forevrbumpn
UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE!!!Here's some teaser pics of the GZ sub. Forevrbumpn is the shit! Need a woofer done? Talk to Ken, he will hook you up. haha... thanks for the props I think I will just dome it and ship it. I need to get those leads up and away from that aluminum spider clamp too specs look great for what you will be doing with it, lets see if it can handle that 7000 Atomic! I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy.
