hamel52
so my current head unit only has 2v pre amp outs and ive seen some nice pioneers with the 4v pre amp outputs and supposedly this will make the subs sound clearer or sound better? would this be a good reason to upgrade the H/U? Yes you will want atleast 4v pre outs they do send a cleaner signal and are less stressful on your amps the higher the better. audiofanaticz
2 volt pre out is just fine, unless your amps gain dial is not able to set to that low of a signal, which most likely isnt the case.
Boon
Most modern amps can make full power off as little as ~0.2v input. Preout voltage is critical when it's being split a lot or noise reduction is paramount. 10.x volts fo' life!

Some advertise 4V but it sure doesn't sound like it. lP lR O Jl lE C T - C G 6 DD 9512G - DD M2A - DDA W - DD S4A - ALPINE W505 - IMPRINT
