03protege
Heres the link to part 1 if you wanna check it out. http://forum.realmofexcursion.com/showthread.php?t=43542 Well its that time again, the old system could hold its own but as most all (if not all) of you know the shit won't cut it forever. Alot of my gear will remain unchanged for the time being with the exception of the subs. Highs: 4 pairs of RF 3 ways glassed in front doors Subs: 3 Fi SSD's (uac branded ones) Amps: T20001 T3002 (a little beast amp for sure) Headunit: Pioneer F700bt Enclosure is being built inside vehicle to give me the room necessary. If I did my math right it should be right around 4 cubes at 31hz. So real quick shitty videos of the car http://s201.photobucket.com/albums/aa62/03...nt=MVI_0478.flv http://s201.photobucket.com/albums/aa62/03...=MVI_0481-1.flv This picture show how much extra trunk space i will have. I went from 4ish cubes net to 5.2 cubes net and gained another 10 inches of trunk space. Throwin down that ebony stain (not sealed yet) Today's work Got a few pieces attached. Since I cant screw the wood together (except the port and front peice) im using these little metal braces. They made it alot stronger than I thought they would. Before the back goes on ima fiberglass it all. Edited May 20, 2009 by 03protege
03protege
Allrighty time for the part deuce update... I got the top secured on which was more of a pain getting it all lined up then i thought it would be do to all the welds and joints on the rear deck. Used a few more clamps up top and it was still a little wobbly Soo.... BAM! I hit it with a little bit of glass and all is better. I got 2 layers on the right side and 1 layer on the left (ran out of gloves) and this thing hardly moves at all now. i havent even glassed the tops or put the back on yet. Then im adding some hardwood dowels for bracing i still need to do the verticals and glass them togther And last but not least im posed with a decision/problem. I cant decide how im going to seal the gap at the top of the box. Im thinking laying down so painters tape and doing about 4-5 layers of matt. What you think? Didn't get much done today cause my throat is sore as **** right now Anyway these next few pics show the steps im taking to seal the gap in the top of the box, The other day when i was glassing i had a very hard time trying to get the glass in the top corner sides so today i experimented a little bit. i used some spray adhesive and it worked awesome. EDIT: also there is obviously no resin laid down as I wasn't feeling good enough to continue, and i was itchy as a motha truka Edited May 21, 2009 by 03protege

Should i put carpet below it and expanding foam everywhere else?
Torres
expanding foam would be the best bed to hold it sturdy and in place

Your car is alot nicer and that extra trunk room is a plus. I like the 99 front end alot. in stock form its pretty mild looking but with the proper bumper it looks great. Check out corksport.com and look at the version of the japanese mazdaspeed and the sport 20. They make your model look so aggressive. Nice start...I like that stain alot...unique and looks sweet Thank you I did a lighter version of this on my last box and it came out really nice its the way to go imho. gimme a call if u need anything sure will, problem is ive been working on it so sparatically trying to fit it all in between everything else going on.
