Maybe a stupid question but oh well. I've seen boxes facing forwards, backwards, up, and sideways. Currently, I have my box sideways firing towards the side of the car. I keep the side its firing towards seat down. I'm thinking about facing it forwards but I've heard if you do that you lose on the lows? Is this true? Guys who have their boxes facing forwards with the seats down, is it any louder than facing backwards?

face everything forward completly sealed of from the rest of the trunk. this is one the most effective positions for a box in a trunker...i have also heard that u can also put the box all of the way back against the trunk opening but still fire everything forward.

i have my subs and ports firing forward and my lows are insane...so whoever said you miss out on the low notes isnt correct.

i likes me some audio stuff...

firing forward and cabin isolated from the trunk completely is the best way if you can. The second best is everything aimed backwards....Sideways isnt always bad either at a slight angle. You just have to move it around in your particular car to see whats best. All cars act different.

Ok I'm gonna face mine forward, only thing is if I put both my seats down theres hella plastic behind them that rattles. In my opinion it sounds better sideways than backwards, thats why I have it that way. Also, why do circuity city and best buy always fire them backward?

Backwards is the easiest way to get them to sound good. Firing forward requires sealing off the trunck, baffle forward, which is time consuming. Faicn the subs backwards keeps fom cancellation problems as well as sealing off the trunk. IMO sealing the trunk off and firing forward is best, but firng backward is easy. Here is a right up that compares firing back compared to forwrd without sealing the trunk http://www.installer.com/tech/aiming.html and read onto part two.

I switched my sub around and its much louder and boomier the way I had it. The sq is much better but its not loud at all. I didn't seal the trunk but I just wanted to see what it would be like. I've already tried facing the sub up backwards and sideways. Sideways seems to work the best. There are certain notes this way where it sounds like the sound is cancelling or something bc the sub is moving a lot and I can feel it but not here it. I'm gonna play it this way for a while so I can get used to it, then switch it back the way I had it. Also, I had been playing it with the seats down, should they have been up?
