Kicker Amps

1st post. love the site. i have 2 kicker amps (08) a 1500.1 and a 2500.1 that i am wanting to run at 1 ohm. i know they are not rated for this but i have heard these before and they rock. i have a xxx 12 on the 1500.1 and currently buliding a box for a xxx18 that will be hooked to the 2500.1 do you all think it will work? Thanx for feedback.

First I wouldnt recommend running either at 1 ohm(unless you like magic smoke), second I wouldnt suggest mixing sub sizes as it usually turns out sounding like crap.

Yeah those amps are gonna fry at 1 ohm. Never mix sub sizes or types=fail.

Both subs will be in seperate enclosures, this is ok right?

If the subs are in the same vehicle, even though they are in seperate enclosures it wont sound very good.

I would never run Kicker at 1 ohm. You gonna burn the amp to death. I know some peoples done and have run it a 0.5 ohm before and seem to work, but i wouldn't risk. Kicker products are great and love their amp because it under-rated. DON"T DO IT! You you got tons of cash to burn then be my guess.. HA!

Don't mix sub sizes period.

As for kicker amps frying at 1 ohm, thats pretty laughable.

It all depends on ur electrical, and some luck. Some amps can run at 1 ohm and some won't. Ur impedance rise has a lot to do with it also.

Head Unit: Pioneer DEH-P6000UB

Sub Amp:American Bass VFL 500.1

Subs: 4 Fi BL 18's

Enclosure:21.5 Cubic foot flat wall tuned to 40 hz

Batteries: 3 Kinetik 2400's in the back, Kinetik 1200 under hood.

Mids & Highs: 4 Kicker DS 6.5 coax in doors, 2 Kicker DS coax in pillars

Highs Amp: Kicker kx250.2, kx100.2

Wire: 4 Runs 1/0 gauge Knukonceptz
