Ford Explorer Box Build 2 Cvx 15's

Not really new to car audio, but this is probably my first major stab at making a custom box. The purpose of this build was to give my CVX's (wish they were better, but a gift is a gift) some more ft3, however I still want space to put things in the back as well as have access to the spare. Box's dimensions give ~7.8ft3 after displacement, tuned to 31-32Hz. If you notice I angled the back of the box to contour the seats and to try and get as much space as I can in the trunk.

Equipped with some cheap tools and a flat surface, I got to work. Let me know what you think, critiques always appreciated.

Just want to point out that, Yes, I actually cut all that damn birch with that lousy 5.25" and a wobbly glass patio table. Needless to say all my cuts are still accurate.

Its hard to appreciate, but the back panel is bent to shit. Even though the joints are set perfectly at 90 degrees, the sides are bowed out 2-3".

After a little bracing and some clamps the back sat nice and straight.

45's to button it up.

Now time to brace it up with some 1" dowel rods.

Love the Jasper, just watch out cause its easy to divot the last little cut

A little messy, but at least all the cuts are straight.

A little stain and poly left around from a furniture repair.

Time to wrap it up. I was aiming to somewhat match the interior colors of the truck.

Set the saw really shallow and cut the parameter of the box, so I could tuck the vinyl edges into. The design changed a couple times, but I think it turned out pretty good.
