Bandpass Enclosures Better Than Ported?

Recommended Posts

So I have been hearing this through many people and one local audio shop that Bandpass enclosures will be louder than ported or sealed. I TOTALLY disagreed with this, unless the box was HUGE, then it would be louder. But I wanted to hear what you guys thought. Thanks.

bandpass can easily be louder than ported, there is usually a disadvantage in having a smaller bandwidth though.

Depends bandpasses can have broader bandwidths but you sacrifice an extremely large peak for a more flat response.
