mhuck123 Posted May 28, 2009 Report Posted May 28, 2009 OK, so I have a quick question, I have used optimas for a long time and the fit a nice niche for me, they are easy to obtain, fairly cheap (I can get em at costco) and small. After reading the forums here though it seems a lot of people discourage using them or have a better alternative. What I want to know is if there is a better alternative that isthe same size or preferrably smaller that is realatively the same price. Also why if anyone can add the .02 If it matters I plan on using 4 bluetops in my system as they are the most powerful and least resistant of the group. Any help will be appreciated Starting From Scratch!!

I have both the Optima and the XS Power too. kinetik or odyssey..real depends on the amount of power you want to push to the size. If you have a small or 1 alt that isnt up to powering the set up without a major voltage drop you will want more capacity

If you want to save weight and go on a good dependable battery i recommend a Batcap. The yellow top at costco was 169.99 I found the D3400 is 239.00 shipped. I think its a hair taller than the optima. The foot print is the same.
