baron_of_bass Posted June 2, 2009 Report Posted June 2, 2009 hey guys im thinking about starting a build in my 1996 honda accord. im leaning towards 2 18s in a wall, but im having trouble deciding what 18s to go with... i am really thinking about 2 18" level 5s, but someone was trying to convince me to go with dd 9500s. Now i cant choose between the two. im going to be using the car as a daily driver. each woofer should be getting 5k and im planning on tuning at about 33hz, but i still cant choose between the 2 woofers. I was just wondering what you guys would go with and why? and if you guys have any other suggestions for woofers they would also be appreciated. thanks guys! Quote Team Bass-Hz
oldschool Posted June 2, 2009 Report Posted June 2, 2009 i say dc not saying the dd is not good also but for low tuned bumpin i would go dc. Quote TEAM GROUNDPOUNDERS INC. 156.5 OUT THE TRUNK OF A 95 CADDY W/1 SUB & 2AMPs score done on a termlab mic in the kick on the dash sealed was 154

Kian Posted June 2, 2009 Report Posted June 2, 2009 Thats a lot of power. I would say DD. if you were running less power i would 100 % recommend the DC subs Quote --------------------------------------------------------------- Club 150 (15x.x) Youtube Future Build: 1x 15" T3 TSNS 2x Sundown Audio SAZ3000d Parellel strapped
loburbon Posted June 2, 2009 Report Posted June 2, 2009 i say dd, because i know first hand that the dd's get low just fine. oldschool Posted June 2, 2009 Report Posted June 2, 2009 i would guess with voltage drops and the fact music is dynamic the dc subs should not have a problem. Decaf Posted June 2, 2009 Report Posted June 2, 2009 dc has cheaper recones too for when u eventually fry the shiznit out of one of these id love to just have a maxximus "laying" around, lol if its daily and u arent trying to sqeeze every tenth of a db out of the system dc will be cheaper all around too, plus custom dustcaps and dont forget the SEXy DC girl!! Siete_Cinqo Posted June 2, 2009 Report Posted June 2, 2009 (edited) blowing shit up is of no concern. we can figure to back down on it if he must. But I think Max's (818-bass-hrtz-818) main concern is really what sub would do better on the lows or perform better overall at that power?
