I don't know then it seems like your stuck. last thing it comes down to then is how much horsepower and torque you want to make. You would have a lot better luck finding info on this on a mustang forum. I don't know if your part of any but allfordmustangs.com, mustangforums.com and corral.net are great places and will have probably have a couple people that have gone both routes. My brothers had a 460 in a 1975 F100 huge 39" Tires and 14" Lift and lots of work done and man was it insane. But if you cant afford that, a good cam a set of aluminum heads, intake, and the right carb would bring that horsepower up quite a bit.
