little update.

sub 1 should be here monday or tuesday...the other one was damaged by UPS. i don't know exactly how bad it is yet, UPS is shipping it back to him then he will let me know the status.

also bought a 250 amp DC power alternator, should be here later next week :)

Ouch, sucks about the damage. I hope it isn't too bad. Hopefully UPS will get it shipped back fast.

My comp setup (Not bad for what it is):

HP Compaq Presario V6120US laptop with:

15.4" widescreen

AMD Turion 64 X2 1.6GHz processor

got the top piece screwed and glued in. originally the port was part of the top piece well i cut it out so that it will be easier to just make a new port if my tuning is off once its all up and playing. also got one of the subs in. i was sweating my ass off and in a hurry because it was getting dark and went ahead and screwed it in but im going to have to take it back out tomorrow and sand around the hole because its a tad too small.

40.1 will be here TOMORROW!! i spoke to scott saturday and he said he was going to ship the other 18 out today so maybe friday or saturday before i get it. i still have some more minor things i wanna do to the top piece/port to make it more sturdy.

i was thinking leave the 12 sitting in the box in the hole and duck tape from the bottom of the sub to the bottom of the baffle so the sub doesnt free air. would that work?

thats not speaker wire brah.

80 feet of 8 gauge power wire. divided into 8 10 foot pieces then 4 sets of 2 taped together 10 foot long, one set for each coil. simple really

i knew it was 8g i was just asking why 80 ft, i didnt think it would need 10 ft to go from amp to sub....thats just why i asked, my bad

yea i could have got by with a little less but i wanted to make sure i had enough slack to work with. also ended up not using 2 of the pieces i made, im going to series both 18's in the wall then have one set of wires for each 18 coming out the back of the wall into the trunk, will have a final load of 1 ohm at the amp.

good news and bad news lol.

bad news is the alt you sold me can't work on my engine.

good news is hes building me a brand new alt :)

and joobles my IA 40.1 should be here tomorrow, dB-r shipped it today and i only live like 30 miles from his shop. other 18 should be here by the end of the week.

Wha?? LoL. I asked him!! Cool though..is he taken care of ya then? He is a good dude for sure. I have to order mine for the JEtta soon. Still havent done any welding hahah
