audiofanaticz
Sent Mechman my old caddy alt to be dyno'ed and recased to fit on my hoe. I got a EXCELLENT deal on a 250 Amp Mechman Rhino series alt. I was called up tuesday afternoon around 3pm, Matt told me my options, and I picked the one that sounded the best, and gave him some money, and he was able to ship it the same day too. A box was dropped off 2 days later at my shop. This all happened pretty fast imo since he only got my old alt last friday. After opening the box, I instantly seen a grounding stud on the back of the alternator, I thought that was a nice add. I just need to order some extra wire to use it since my current ground is too short. I think I need 2 more of these!!! So heres some pics. My dyno sheet for the new alt. Stock charging voltage. Factory alt on the left, mechman on the right. Voltage? My rpm's also now stay where ever I want to set them The throttle cable knob thingy to hold my rpms steady (most likely at 2000rpm) Then the little knob for my regulator voltage conveniently located on my dash. Beanz
DAMN NICE 16.06 is that after a cold start? Quote That's why they don't deliver. Yer ass better go sit along the side of the road and wait. You can't expect them to travel up some dirt road in a hick / back woods town. Thats how horror movies start I explain things very simply and use analogies in terms of Pickles, and grape drink, pool noodles and jackhammers...if you can't put 2 and 2 together there man, There simply is not much more I can do. audiofanaticz
DAMN NICE 16.06 is that after a cold start? Its adjustable anywhere from 13.5volts all the way up to 21volts. But Im only running 12 volt batteries, so ill turn it to about 16 when beating, and turn it back down to about 15.2 when driving and what not. Beanz
but a quick noob question you have to have it at 8000 rpm to have the full 250?i thought it was suppose to be at like 2000 rpm to 2500 like on most alternators? That is alternator pully rpm, not engine rpm. Its about a 3:1 ratio for alt to engine rpm. So 8000 alt rpm is about 2400 engine rpm.
