you can just turn the gain down to 2000rms, if you have fully loaded SSD's, they should easily take 1000rms.

gain's not a volume knob, fyi

If you have the right equipment and know what you're doing it's entirely possible :)

And then you just have to make sure you NEVER play a source that is strong/louder than the source material you used when setting that limit.

When someone has to ask a question like this, there is a 99.99% chance telling them to limit the amplifier output using the gain is NOT going to work.

You limit amplifier output by knowing the limits of your system and not letting your fingers roll the volume knob past that limit. . .

For subs - You could also look at the AA Havoc. A pair of them would be a nice match with that amp.
