Soulman07
Squeal? Usually caused by it slipping, belt dressing worked for me though. Only time it squeals is on start up when the back side of the belt would rub the idler pulley though. Replacing the belt actually solved my problem though. It all started after the tensioner broke though Quote 1993 Chevrolet SWB Pickup Viper 791XV Primer Stage 5/8 Static Drop Kinetik HC1800 Big 3 Knu Flex 0 Team Tex Flex

cunokyle
its not a squeal its a squeak Sure it is not your idler pulley or tensioner pulley? Those should be replaced regularly. The bearings will go bad in them and cause a squeaking noise Quote The woofers might suck all the air out your lungs (if you stand too close) When the monster hums
droopy89
Sure it is not your idler pulley or tensioner pulley? Those should be replaced regularly. The bearings will go bad in them and cause a squeaking noise x2, and belt dressing will cause the squeak to get worse, i learned the hard way Quote 1997 S10 EC Whats in it 106.9 Sq.ft. Joker
Take a bar of soap and with the engine running ease the soap on the underside of the belt. 1992Chevy K1500
Take the belt off and clean it using an old toothbrush and warm water with MILD amounts of soap. Do not put soap directly on the back of the belt as this can cause the belt to start slipping (especially if the belt is on the vehicle and running). Allow it to air dry for 24 to 48 hours. Make sure it is completely dry before you put it back on.
