Duvanator
So i have a big room (800+ sf) and right now i have a 12" cvr in a slot port box, well needless to say the room is a little to big for this 1 12. so im going to be getting a mach 5 mj-18m when mark gets his magnitizer working again (hopefully soon). now i want to build a box that will have a loud flat response from 15hz-120ish hz. so im reaching out to you guys here, what type of box would suit me best: a slot ported box, a folded horn, a bandpass of some type, a t-line, or just a solid built sealed box? Duvanator
The Fs for this sub is 24hz, would building a t-line tuned to 30hz work well? I though for t-lines to perform their best they should be tuned to the drivers Fs? head unit - Panasonic MXE CQ-C7403U amp - Cerwin-Vega EXL 1200D subs - (x2) Cerwin Vega V-MAX 15.4 box - 5.8 ^3 at 32hz spkrs- Phoenix Gold Rsd Comps
slim2fattycake
In a home theater, I would only care for everything under 80hz or even lower. I got a MJ-18M in 11 cubes net tuned to 20hz off about 650watts from a behringer 1500 amp. I think I have it lowpassed at 80hz. I can hear and feel everything. Really loud on music too. kirill007
You could do a tline, but it would be huge. Tline's have tight and accurate bass. Mine is tuned to 26hz, and it loves everything lower then 30hz.(i have watched transformers on it, and i could feel everything ! ) Thinking is the root of all problems... You ALWAYS get what you pay for.
Boon
Man to 15 to 120 flat is a big ask. Especially if you want it loud. Either a huge ported box or an exotic box like a horn or very very long t-line is what you need. 10.x volts fo' life!
