I have a 2000 Chevy blazer, stock alt, stock batt. 1/0 from batt back and from batt to chassis (still need to do big 3 but also need some more wire for it.

Hopefully this year ill save up enough to do 2 LVL4XL15s on either a DC 3000.1 or AQ3500D at 1 ohm and a DC 120.4. Im trying to see what i need to save up to do this properly. I may start off with one XL since ive heard these can handle power pretty well, then save up and get the 2nd.

Anyway, what will my electrical need to keep up with all this? Im not doing this tomorrow or anything, but i wanna know how much ill need to save up for my next build.

I always heard that upgrade alt, then go from there. The biggest alt you can find with a good output at idle. Once you see you have very little voltage drop you (can but dont have to) add a mla module that gives you another 1-1.5 volts to get more power out of your amps. I personally dont know much but this is just what i learned from asking a million ?'s. In your case id look for a 250 amp alt and a few group 31 batts to start. Dc power alts have great customer service and always willing to help with electrical ?'s. Hope this helps.

well you need to do alt and spare batts at the same time otherwise you will overcharge the one and ruin its life, further more plan on at least one good size deep cell per thousand watts of pull in otherwords find your max current draw and convert it to watts at what ever your cars voltage will be so let say you have 15.3 off the mla module and your running 400 amps thats a 6100 watt draw at full output you would need something like 2 200 amp alts and 3 runs of zero and probably like 3-4 xs power 3100 cells if that make sense as an example if your only going to do music you may need less but hey prepare for the worst and hope for the best right well hope this helps by the way this example is if your gonna use the system daily

system is going to be in my DD. IDK how easy/available/expensive dual alt kits are for a 2nd gen s10 with the 4.3L So i may be limited to a 350A alt. Think i really need one group 31 per 1kw? Damn. Well im lookin to run about 3.5 to 4k RMS between my mids and highs and my subs.

no no the xs power 3100 will do about 2 to 3 thousand per batt given you have enough alt to back them up for daily use

i would probably do the 350 if it has good output at idle and 3 xspower 3100 cells in your case one under the hood 2 in the rear if your going to use it daily

not sure how much a 350 runs, i found a 280 for about 350 and another one that was about 550. If i could fit dual alts id probably just run 2 180s or 200s. And a 3100 will not fit under my hood. so ill have to put them in back\

I would do 2 200 amp alts and 2 or 3 group 31 sized batteries like oddyssey 2150, kinetik 2400 or xs d3100

I was readin a thread, one guy who is running 2 5k amps at .5 ohms strapped off 2 group 31s and a 220A alt. ya his voltage drops, and its a daily setup from what i read. Do i really need 400A of alt and 3 group 31s for less power at a higher impedance?
