looks great! hurry up and get this thing runnin, i want a demo!

Don't have high expectations, it's not gonna hit anywhere near as hard as your system. I just hope it sounds clean, that's my only need.

Cool I love the dash kit. Was that custom made? Keep it up.

Yeah, it's custom, but you can customize one of your own and order it from www.humount.com

I see you have a Monte too, got a system in it? Let's see what you're workin' with!

Alright, got some more work done yesterday...

When I installed the comps I had a pretty big gap, I don\'t think it would have been an issue since the cone wasn\'t visible from the gap, but I decided to fix it anyway

I decided the best way to fix this would be to seal the speaker in with non-hardening modeling clay. I sealed it up all the way around to prevent the possibility of any leaks. Since i\'m gonna be running fronts only (no rear fill) I figured this is necessary to make the front stage as strong as possible.

After I finished sealing both mids, I applied some RTV Silicone sealant along the back side of the pod so I got a good seal once the pod was put back in the door.

Posted Image

I had to let the RTV setup for about 15 minutes so it wasn\'t just a gooey mess, especially since I was going to solder the speaker wire connetions. So while that was setting up, I decided to strip the speaker wire leads and tin the wires.

Posted Image

The one set of speaker wire is stripped long like that so I could twist it together w/the tweeter wire so it looks like a twist (like the donut) and then solder it nicely.

Posted Image

I also tinned the connectors on the mids

Posted Image

After the RTV was semi-solid, I soldered up the speaker wire connections and reinstalled the speaker pods into the door panels. If you look closely you can see a little gap between the speaker pod and the door.

Posted Image

Posted Image

So I had to handle the gap

I was going to run my power lead, RCA's and remote lead this evening, but didn't quite work out like that. When I got ready to leave work, I went out to my car to start it up and get the A/C going and then was gonna go back in and grab my tools. When I got to the car I noticed my back tire was nearly flat. I had a nail in it over the weekend and got it plugged up but apparently the plug was leaking. So I was buggin' out about that and forgot to get my tools. Kind of a blessing in disguise cause my order from Darvex should be here Thursday so I'll just do it then, and can get my Stinger digital voltage guage wired in and installed at the same time.

Looking good brotha. So the question is, are you gonna bring that car out this weekend to Santa Rosa. There is an SQ show this weekend and by the looks of it your on the right track. If not come on out just to see some other SQ guys. I'm a rookie in this SQ stuff but, definately appreciate the hard work and dedication.
