MECHMAN Posted June 22, 2009 Report Posted June 22, 2009 are they any good. i mean the price is unbeatable for my car the other lowest i could find was $600 The reason why it is cheap is because it is nothing more than a large case one wire GM alternator. All of their alternators are just "universal fit" and sometimes they include an adapter plug. You could get the same thing from just about any alternator company for less. BTW, they are full of $%it about it making full output at 1100 rpm, ESPECIALLY with the small crank pulley on an Acura. I can't speak for all the alternator manufacturers, but in our case $500 gets you an alternator that is specially made to bolt in the stock location. I can tell you with great certainty, that that housing will not fit on an Acura application, without substantial modification due to it's extremely deep case depth- 6.25" from front to back. You get what you pay for. 1-888-MECHMAN www.Mechman.com [email protected]
