electric-wiz-kid Posted June 22, 2009 Report Posted June 22, 2009 ok hears the story my friend bought a mazda mx6 and i re-wierd the old system that came with the car for him new head unit and all as a favor cus he helped me out in the past. I gave him my old bandpass sub box for 2 10" cus it was just collecting dust but he insisted on using the old single channel alpine 350 watt that came with the car so i toled him ill do my best. He bought 2 10" rockford P1's for the box so i bridged them up to the amp and tuned them up they sounded great 350 watts but my friend dosn't realy know about amps or sub or whut he calls ''electronic woofer wiering stuff'' he just wants loud bumping hard hittin bass so he turns the gain all the way up with bass boost on and bass on the head unit up to 10 (it sounds like rocks going down a rain gutter lol ) but he likes it so i sed ok..... dose enybody thingk hes doing damage with that littil 350 watt?

electric-wiz-kid Posted June 27, 2009 Author Report Posted June 27, 2009 yea that's what i though but those p1s are freaks of nature lol. hes bin beating the hell outa them for about a year now (same settings) i don't get it they wont die. i gotta say Rockford made a good sup with the p1 it can take some punishment.
Haydog17 Posted June 27, 2009 Report Posted June 27, 2009 Well, the amp and stuff isn't to big so it shouldn't fry right away, but having anything peaked will mess the subs and everything up. Try turning the amp up to 7/9, that would save the subs and sound better.

tacomabanga1986 Posted June 28, 2009 Report Posted June 28, 2009 hahah, that amp doesnt do 350, it does 350rms @4ohm, 700rms @2ohm, he's gunna smoke them fuckers quick lol, n ive had ppl like that befor, if its louder when its distorted they want it that way, but that amp is under rated, my buddy had 2 of em runnin my old rockford punch he2 12's dual 4ohm, and they was gettin around 700rms on each amp, so ya shit will smoke soon, if not burn the amp up, i dnt use bass boost much but i use it to kinda bring up the higher notes in the music n lifen up the lows, ied reset it if it was me, but if he likes it n is willing to pay for new stuff or if he got it from best buy n just take em back then more power to him anyways good luck with this man and these was the ones he had, 2 of em here's a link to my system 99 toyota tacoma , 2 mtx 8000 1504's in a sealed downfire , 1000w memphis amp here's a link to my other system my 90 geo prizm test car heres a thread i got of new songs u can dl that are legal = Some Good Bangage/you Can Dl These Free And Legit

And it came with the car so thairs no taking it back lol it looks kinda like that pic but without the power sighn on it and the terminals are alittal different. hes bin fuckin em up for a year now i dont get it they wont die
