i really need help carpeting boxes and doing corners b/c i suck. i built all of my friends boxes and they came out great, but the road ends for me there, i dont know how to carpet at all. any tips / advice or pointers on how to carpet like the pros.

anything at all would be much appreciated

well i know its far from a tutorial but if you look at the box i just finished and a few others ive done you may be able to see how i did it. The only thing you cant see in the pics is the overlapping and cutting multiple layers at once to make sure the seams are exactly the right legnth no matter what. You also dont see the years and years of practice...even with practice i almost jacked this carpet job up on the last box because i glued the wrong side of the carpet on accident LOL.....woops. I survived the incident but it only takes one mistake and its over.....time to get more carpet.

sharp blades, straight edge and practice practice is the only way. No book can teach you as good as gettin your hands dirty. You fuckin up a box or two is good for you. You learn from that. Trust me mine all didnt look like this......

Head Unit: Pioneer DEH-P6000UB

Sub Amp:American Bass VFL 500.1

Subs: 4 Fi BL 18's

Enclosure:21.5 Cubic foot flat wall tuned to 40 hz

Batteries: 3 Kinetik 2400's in the back, Kinetik 1200 under hood.

Mids & Highs: 4 Kicker DS 6.5 coax in doors, 2 Kicker DS coax in pillars

Highs Amp: Kicker kx250.2, kx100.2

Wire: 4 Runs 1/0 gauge Knukonceptz

good info ^^^ my method would be similar to the third option......the hardest one LOL. I guess i need to learn to make life easier on myself.

yea steve, i was lookign at your builds and thats what i was trying to do, but i was my first time and none of the 4 triangles that i cut for sides lined up. needless to say it looked like garbage. so now i gotta start over. but w/e i love car audio and im gonna take whatever steps necassary to get it right.
