ps6435 Posted June 25, 2009 Author Report Posted June 25, 2009 if this guy can get like a sony 10 to sound like a 15 you think he would be a good person to get a box scetch from??? digital designs web site has a design for a box for there speakers u think i could just use there design and minorly change it? http://www.ddaudio.com/dd/BoxDesigns/highE...ncy/compact.asp i want the port and sub firing same way but id use there port dimensions then change it up by putting port way i want it...
Team_DC-Derrick Posted June 25, 2009 Report Posted June 25, 2009 just take how long and wide the port is, and run it in a L shape... keeping the distance the same length, then you can put your port in front The DC Integra 3 18s to 6 15 build log Team_DC-Derrick's Youtube Team DC Audio where theres a will theres a wall....... ps6435 Posted June 25, 2009 Author Report Posted June 25, 2009 just take how long and wide the port is, and run it in a L shape... keeping the distance the same length, then you can put your port in front but to tune it to 35 hz the port should actually be 30" long based on the port calculator on the12volt.com i entered all the stuff and that port is tuned to around 41 hz
ps6435 Posted June 25, 2009 Author Report Posted June 25, 2009 but to tune it to 35 hz the port should actually be 30" long based on the port calculator on the12volt.com i entered all the stuff and that port is tuned to around 41 hz if i just used the port calculator on there website im sure i could build the box myself... my box is tuned to 44 hz so yea thats why its crappy... if port was only 2" wide on mine instead of like 4 it wuld have been good i will get the wood sunday and just do it myself... i mean its only 25 dollars lol...
Team_DC-Derrick Posted June 25, 2009 Report Posted June 25, 2009 the 30" length is from the start of the port to the end, just make the L part go down 9.375" from the fron to the back then go from the side 20.625" that will be 30" total for your port with a width of 1.75 thats for the 10.. i cant remember if you said you got the 10 or not The DC Integra 3 18s to 6 15 build log Team_DC-Derrick's Youtube Team DC Audio where theres a will theres a wall....... ps6435 Posted June 25, 2009 Author Report Posted June 25, 2009 i used this: http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/boxcalcs.asp#porsq and i am just gonna use it to build the box... im gonna use the same dimensions as the box i made this time except for the front piece and make port smaller in width and use the calculator to know how long to make it... a used an l shape port on box and if i would have left the port alone when i first build box it would have been tuned to 35hz but i was dumb and cut half the length of port off... i was right to begin with...

Team_DC-Derrick Posted June 25, 2009 Report Posted June 25, 2009 it wont sound as strong as say tuned to 40hz, but it will still sound pretty good, 35-36hz is right around the perfect area The DC Integra 3 18s to 6 15 build log Team_DC-Derrick's Youtube Team DC Audio where theres a will theres a wall.......
