Guest Posted June 25, 2009 Report Posted June 25, 2009 or run one voice coil off right channel and one voice coil off the left channel? yea thats what i said but in other words..
ps6435 Posted June 25, 2009 Author Report Posted June 25, 2009 or run one voice coil off right channel and one voice coil off the left channel? if i did it one voice coil per channel how would that be hooked up? would it be like 2 ohm or 4 ohm or what?
ps6435 Posted June 25, 2009 Author Report Posted June 25, 2009 if i did it one voice coil per channel how would that be hooked up? would it be like 2 ohm or 4 ohm or what? also amps shut off if you try to hook it up and it doesnt accept it the amps usually shut off themselves why didnt it do that?
Guest Posted June 25, 2009 Report Posted June 25, 2009 if i did it one voice coil per channel how would that be hooked up? would it be like 2 ohm or 4 ohm or what? running each coil on each channel on the amp would be stereo. the amp would see 4 ohms on each channel. your eclipse amp can do 200rms @ 4 ohms in stereo so try to aim for that
Guest Posted June 25, 2009 Report Posted June 25, 2009 also amps shut off if you try to hook it up and it doesnt accept it the amps usually shut off themselves why didnt it do that? thats usually if you try to run the amp at too low of an ohm load
ps6435 Posted June 25, 2009 Author Report Posted June 25, 2009 thats usually if you try to run the amp at too low of an ohm load the way i got it currently hooked up and wiring it up where there is a voice coil per channel would i lose much power if i didnt touch the gain or anything?
Guest Posted June 25, 2009 Report Posted June 25, 2009 the way i got it currently hooked up and wiring it up where there is a voice coil per channel would i lose much power if i didnt touch the gain or anything? you wouldnt lose much power i dont think so. the sub would be seeing 400rms total if you tuned the gains right, which you should tune them again everytime you change the wiring.
ps6435 Posted June 25, 2009 Author Report Posted June 25, 2009 you wouldnt lose much power i dont think so. the sub would be seeing 400rms total if you tuned the gains right, which you should tune them again everytime you change the wiring. but that will make the sub sound better? or will low notes still sound crappy?
Guest Posted June 25, 2009 Report Posted June 25, 2009 but that will make the sub sound better? or will low notes still sound crappy? theres only one way to find out. power of elimination.
Team_DC-Derrick Posted June 25, 2009 Report Posted June 25, 2009 your low notes are gonna sound crappy reguardless, if your box is around 45hz your not gonna really have good sounding 35 and lower notes... The DC Integra 3 18s to 6 15 build log Team_DC-Derrick's Youtube Team DC Audio where theres a will theres a wall....... I just realized Steve has reach Voldemort status, over on JP's site he is the one who will not be named....."We dont speak his name over here, fearing it will destroy us" LOL not even in hush tones
